I guess this Korean drama is a rip off  of the 1988 Hollywood movie version of  Big starring Tom Hanks. I enjoyed that movie. However, this drama being 16 episodes provides more length to add more substances to an old plot.

Gil Da Ran is a simple, down to earth, girl next door type who is slightly clumsy, amusing & not that switched on. Not saying that she is dumb or anything but perhaps is a bit blurred in her own little world. She is an apprentice high school teacher studying to get her teaching licence. She is engaged and about to get married to a handsome doctor called Seo Yoon Jae. Her life seems normal and stable, until she has a minor argument with her doctor fiance.

During that argument, one of her 18 year of students Kang Kyung Joon is there with her. He takes her to a place near the river on  his motorbike to steam off. The fiance calls her and wants to drive out to the river to meet up and soothe things out with her. While she waits for him there, Kyung Joon leaves on his motorbike.

Yoon Jae drives to the place, while Kyung Joon rides off. The two cross paths in opposite directions and there was an accident. Both the motorbike and the car hit head on and drove right in to the water. Yoon Jae was able to get out of the car and swims to try to save Kyung Joon. When they touched hands, something magical happened.

At the hospital, when Kyung Joon wakes up, his spirit/mind/soul is trapped in Yoon Jae's body. Da Ran finds out and validates that it is kyung Joon that is inside the body of her fiance. Meanwhile, Yoon Jae's soul is trapped in Kyung Joon's body and is comatised. He spends the rest of the drama in bed comatised ^^ (poor guy).

The rest of the drama Da Ran spends with Kyung Joon  in Yoon Jae's body) to try to get them to swap bodies back. Because they are engaged and eventually to married, they lived in the same house. As they spent more time together, Da Ran fell in love with Kyung Joon. Kyung Joon has always had a crush on Da Ran from the first scene on the bus when they met.

He then moves to the US for a year to study and to wants to mature faster so he can be with Da Ran.

When he comes back, still trapped in Yoon Jae's body, they still had feelings for each other. It was very confusing for Da Ran who thought she was in love with the perfect man-her fiance Joon Yae. I think though because Yoon Jae (before the body swaping) was always too busy being a doctor and didn't spend enough time with her, her heart drifted. There was also a misunderstanding that Yoon Jae might have had an affair with a doctor colleague which broke her heart. This later was confirmed untrue but it was too late, Kyung Joon had captured her heart already. It did take a long time for her to realise this but when she did, she was very sure that it was Kyung Joon she was in love with. They didn't get together until Kyung Joon was maybe (I'm guessing here) 21-22 years old and she is around 28 years old.

When the body swapping back eventually happened near the end of the drama, both Kyung Joon and Yoon Jae had no memories at all of what happened after the accident. Kyung Joon had lost all his precious memory that he had spent and fell in love with Da Ran. Before the return of the bodies, he did adviced Da Ran that he'll fall for her again when they meet later because he fell for her the first time. The last scene was again on the bus where Da Ran had to recreate the first time she met Kyung Joon. I'm guessing from there love blossoms again for the two.

I didn't recognise Lee Min Jung at all until I read her credits on wiki. She played Goo Jin Pyo's fiancee on Boys Before Flowers. Blink and  you'll miss her there. I guess everyone loved Koo Hye Sun in BFF so Lee Min Jung was not noticeable in that drama. Also here, she sports bangs which was probably why I didn't recognise her. This girl is very pretty, her facial features seem perfectly shaped: big eyes with long lashes, perfectly shaped nose and moderately sized curvy shaped lips. Quite a stunner.

Shin Won Ho who played 18 year old Kang Kyun Joon was mainly in the first episode and appeard as cameo flashes in further episodes. He spent most of the drama in bed. His acting was not bad. Such a shame. He's a cute 21 year old. Give him another 10+ years and he'll mature to be a very good looking man.

The character Jang Ma Ri aka Suzy from Miss A. I found her to be quite annoying with her cutesy little girl outfits and silly headbands. Her acting is bearable but usually when they cast young kpop stars in these dramas, it's like that.

Lee Min Jung's acting also is not the greatest. A lot of the time, you can tell that she is acting Hmm...

The big question here is: how can a 25 year old teacher and a 18 year old student fall in love and have a relationship? I guess because he was in a 30 year old man's body, it's more believable. These kind of questions were obviously ignored due to the romantic factors. In the end, he was 22 years old, much more older, and Gil Da Ran teaches at a different school so it's more socially acceptable. But then, we can say screw society's view of what love should and have to be, hey?

I liked the idea that an older woman is with a younger guy. I've noticed many current dramas like that now such as I Do, I Do, The King 2 Hearts, Scent Of A Woman are on the same streamline of dating younger mean. Go older women with younger guys I'd say :)

I actually preferred Kyung Joon's personality in Yoon Jae's body. The real Yoon Jae was boring and too straight for my liking. Kyung Joon was fun and cheeky.

My favourite scene: at the movies when Gil Da Ran's heart fluttered and she didn't understand why she was so happy to see him arrive when he should have been at some play with Jang Ma Ri. Also, because the bus scene was so meaningful, I had to re-watch it again later on.

OST: Because It's You by Davichi, and 미운사람 Hateful Person by Beast.

Without thinking too much of society's view on ageism on relationships & fathoming whether body swapping happens or not, I really enjoyed this drama. This drama struck a chord with me; certain scenes stirred my heart. I found myself thinking about certain themes even after I had finished watching it.

The lead couples had strong on-screen chemistry (that is, Kyung Joon's soul in Yoon Jae's body). I recommend this drama.
